Technical Architect,  Ecommerce ATG Platform

The Technical Architect will interact closely with various technical leads and project managers and will be looked upon as a technical authority on this portion of the platform.   You will identify and prioritize requirements to design new features, improve existing product functionality and to improve performance.   Must have a passion for deploying elegant business oriented architecture solutions that can be easily implemented but scale well and unlock business value. We need our Architect to be a business oriented thinker that looks to innovate for business value in the course of normal implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership throughout the life-cycle of eCommerce application development projects
  • Solution architecting, design, development and roll out of ATG based ecommerce solutions
  • Performance Tuning of ATG Applications
  • Evaluate and anticipate the impact of technical solutions on related projects
  • Evaluate projects and drive outcomes based on the impact of hardware or software upgrades on new and existing applications
  • Understand interrelationships and the impact of systems and applications upon the enterprise wide technical environment
  • Develop and maintain application architecture standards, policies and procedures
  • Work with business user teams to discuss, recommend, explain, and reconcile desired functionality and technology capabilities.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive development strategies and tactics that produce faster turnaround on features and also world class performance
  • Design for high performance and scalability in order to ensure that the application is highly scalable and can support high volumes of traffic
  • Help diagnose and resolve escalated production performance and stability issues.
  • Work with QA team to set the load testing standards and participate in load testing to find performance bottlenecks as needed in the e-commerce application releases.
  • Advise eCommerce IT senior level managers and executives to provide technical expertise, and project direction.

Requirements

  • Multiple years of experience in online or ecommerce technology, participating in Java software development and software architecture
  • Seasoned ATG expertise (Commerce, Merchandising, Content Management, Commerce Service Center) , not just experience or exposure
  • Experience architecting high traffic, high scalability,  high availability and eCommerce websites or other Internet transactional applications
  • Experience with end-to-end application performance tuning, including back-end database layer, ATG, application server/web server layer and UI layer
  • Experience in the following technologies: Struts, Spring, Hibernate, etc. and J2EE technologies like JSP, Servlets, JMS, JMX, JDBC, JBoss, Websphere, Weblogic, Apache

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required

Location: United States

Travel:

50% travel flexibility – more or less depending on project; candidate should be comfortable with travel and overtime as client commitment requires.

ATG Software Developer

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with the Tech Lead to help develop technical design artifacts
  • Develops web applications and web services in a scalable and reusable manner
  • Knowledgeable of leading application servers, such as JBoss and WebLogic, in order to implement the proposed solution
  • Helps scope engagement by providing detailed development time estimates
  • Ability to utilize various application integration techniques to communicate with third party and legacy/back-end systems
  • Assist with development of technical design documentation including UML, ERD and other design artifacts
  • Perform development tasks with little direction or supervision
  • Ability to performance tune and troubleshoot medium to large scale web applications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years defining, designing, and developing for the ATG platform
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Experience with medium to large-scale high-volume e-commerce application design, development and deployment
  • Detailed knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Object Oriented Analysis and Design/Development (OOA/OOD).
  • Java EE/J2EE, XML, SOAP, Servlet, Web Service and other relevant Java technologies
  • Web user interface technologies (HTML, JSP, Tag Libraries, AJAX, JavaScript)
  • Integration experience (examples: Content Manage7ment Systems, Search Engines, Web Services, Tax Processors, Payment Processors, Fulfillment, Ad Engines)
  • Database (Oracle and SQL Server) product knowledge including transaction management, SQL programming, schema design and JDBC
  • Networking knowledge and experience
  • Relevant O/S knowledge (Linux/Unix and Windows)
  • JVM Semantics/Garbage Collection knowledge
  • Application Server (such as JBoss or Web Logic) experience
  • Web Server (Apache and IIS) knowledge
  • Knowledge of Java open source technologies and frameworks (Hibernate, Struts, Spring, JSF)

Position Description

This Engagement Manager will be responsible for directing projects across multiple departments, teams, and solution areas. Ideal candidates will have a consulting background with previous work experience implementing large eCommerce, Enterprise Content Management, and Interactive Marketing initiatives while responsible for having a sales quota and growing accounts. Engagement Managers are responsible for overall client relationship, and the fostering of additional phases within current engagements.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Defining account and financial goals at the client and executing the account strategy in conjunction with the Executives

• Managing all aspects of delivery for client relationships

• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the current account

• Interacting at the highest level in client organizations

• Actively supporting the sales effort on new business development pursuits

• Effectively managing and resolving personnel and project-related issues

• Providing leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, company, and client team members

• Providing final quality assurance functions and assume ultimate responsibility for all client deliverables

• Managing several concurrent projects and/or project managers

• Ensuring consistent approach and solution quality across engagements

• Monitoring all schedules and budgets

 

Qualifications:

• Approximately seven years’ experience in project management, strategic planning, Sales, business analysis, process design, research and competitive analysis, package implementation, and knowledge of multiple technologies and interactive design.

• 5+ yrs. in consulting firm experience, including experience with digital ecommerce and content management implementations

• Must have experience managing annual quotas

• Exposure to ATG a major plus

• Expertise in one or more industries, organizational structures, business process design techniques, and development methodologies (RUP, Method 1, ect.)

• Thorough understanding of the project life cycle process to effectively manage the complexities of the business solution. Experience in full lifecycle software development process and methods

• Proficient in most office applications.
